A key benefit of having an investment approach that prioritises quality is that over the long-term, quality small caps make attractive bid targets.

Hence we’ve not been hugely surprised to see two of our AIM Investor stocks get acquired for chunky premiums.

Yesterday after the market close, it was announced that private-equity firm Sun European Partners has reached a deal to buy K3 for £271m.

The deal for 350 pence per K3 share, represents a premium of about 16.7% to the company’s close on Dec. 7, the companies said on Thursday.

With the deal unanimously agreed by K3’s board, we’re going to crystalise our profit.

Profit = 25.9%
